Few would debate the validity of the statement, "Mickey Mantle is one of Baseball's greatest athletes" and "This is one of his finest Topps collectibles." Topps' dual-portrait format for the 1963 edition made for one of the firm's most visually exciting productions. Here, Mantle is portrayed displaying the tool which helped make him a legend, his trusty bat and a full-color more formal portrait, lacking only that all-american smile. There is one small printing smudge next to "Mickey" and the visual enjoyment of the surfaces, four razor sharp corner tips and the bright hues all combine to exude quality.
