1963 Fleer Roberto Clemente #56 PSA Gem Mint 10 - Pop Three. This auction features the "Slusser Collection" of Roberto Clemente cards. The collection is currently ranked #1 "All-Time Finest" Topps Basic Set on the PSA Set Registry with a 9.43 GPA and spans the entire length of his HoF caliber career. When the Hall of Fame outfielder was tragically killed in an airplane crash while engaged in a humanitarian aid mission for the earthquake-stricken western coast of Nicaragua, his career tally was finalized at an even 3,000. A fitting plateau considering this figure is widely considered the hallmark of greatness. Every individual hit of Roberto Clemente's career turned out to be a pivotal notch in his athletic achievement. While there is no doubt that Clemente's eighteen-year Major League career would have easily justified Hall of Fame enshrinement without that round number, the Hit Club would be a lesser place with his absence.
