Only one superior!

1962 Topps Mickey Mantle #200 PSA Mint 9. "Slight improvement. Be back in two weeks. So don't ask." The Mick felt like he had answered the question a million times, so he wrote the response on a piece of paper and taped it to his chest, turning to face any journalist who inquired about the condition of his legs. At thirty-one years of age, he had played a full decade on them, his pre-game knee taping a ritual he could now do in his sleep. Quietly both teammates and fans wondered if the end of the road was near for their charismatic team leader.

Mantle's answer was definitive--he could still play Hall of Fame-quality ball. With his proprietary blend of immense natural talent and Oklahoma grit, the Mick battled through 123 regular season games and seven more in October, earning an American League MVP Award, a World Championship ring and even the only Gold Glove Award of his career.

Presented is the card that every Kennedy-era collector craved, one of just sixteen to share a PSA Mint 9 rating, bested just once in nearly 8,000 submissions at the time of this writing. Our catalog photography should explain why this is a one-in-500 condition rarity, as the full-bleed printing format of the 1962 Topps issue amplifies even the slightest degree of edge/corner wear, which is effectively absent here. Colors, gloss, surfaces and centering are likewise first-rate. An absolutely stunning card that earns every point of its PSA Mint 9 grade.
