    Description

1962 Topps Lou Brock #387 SGC 96 Mint 9. On June 15, 1964 the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals made what is considered by many to the be the most one-sided deal in baseball history. The Cubs sent a young outfielder named Lou Brock, Jack Spring and Paul Toth to the St. Louis Cardinals for Ernie Broglio, Bobby Shantz, and Doug Clemens. Lou Brock would help win the 1964 World Series for the Cards thanks to a .348 batting average. St. Louis would win the World Series again in 1967 and the NL pennant in 1968. What is just as lop-sided are the number of high grade examples vs total graded examples of this card. As '62 fans now all too well, very high grade cards are rare due to the wood-grain borders. This card is among the top 1% finest on record with SGC and is well deserving of the title. Every aspect of this card screams quality. Surfaces, coloring, gloss, centering and corners are uncompromising. Even Cubs fans will seriously consider adding this card to their collection. Graded SGC 96 Mint 9. There are four graded 96 Mint 9 with one rated higher. This card is for the hobbyist who only wants the finest for his/her collection.
