Description

1961 Topps Carl Yastrzemski (Star Rookie) #287 PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. His full name is Carl Yastrzemski but the fans all called him "Yaz." He played left field as well as first base during his 23 seasons with the Boston Red Sox, which remains a Major League record (tied with Baltimore's Brooks Robinson) for most years of service with one team. When Yaz finally hung up his spikes after the 1983 season, he had collected 3,419 hits, walloped 452 home runs, drove in 1,844 runs, and won the coveted Triple Crown (1967). He was inducted into Cooperstown in 1989 as a first-ballot HOFer. Offered is a 1961 Topps Star Rookie card featuring Yaz. This example of card #287 from the '61 Topps series is found in high-end shape with robust colors, great centering, solid registration, four sharp corners and a clean reverse. Graded PSA NM-MT+ 8.5.
