Description

Signed 1956 Topps Sandy Koufax (White Back) #79 PSA VG 3, PSA/DNA Auto 10. Sandy Koufax was a Hall of Fame lefthander who helped the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers win four World Series titles (1955, '59, '63 and '65). Packed with an arsenal of pitches, most notably a high-velocity fastball and devastating curve, he recorded 165 wins during his 12 years on the hill. A three-time Cy Young Award winner, Koufax was forced to retire at 30 due to chronic elbow pain in his left arm. He bowed out following the 1966 season. Presented is a 1956 Topps card, Koufax's second-year issue, that boasts a special bonus: Sandy's prized signature across the front. This white-back example of card #79 is found in Very Good condition with Koufax's magnificent autograph in blue marker appearing just above his machine-printed facsimile signature. Graded PSA VG 3 with a certified autograph graded PSA/DNA Auto 10.
