Period-Signed 1951 Bowman Willie Mays #305 PSA VG-EX 4, PSA/DNA Auto 8 - Only Two Higher! Willie Mays is widely regarded as one of the greatest all-around baseball players in history, boasting tremendous hitting power, top base-running speed, and superb defense, epitomized by his iconic over-the-shoulder catch in the 1954 World Series. This signed 1951 Bowman rookie is as rare as the man himself. It is the first period-signed example that we have come across, showcasing Mays' early signature from his prime playing days.This card was recently discovered in a vast and important collection, though this was the only Mays card within the collection, and is recently graded. PSA reports a population of just thirty-one signed 1951 Bowman Mays rookie cards, of which only two have card grades higher than this example which is a PSA VG-EX 4. Carries with it a lofty PSA/DNA Auto 8 signature. Well centered and eye appealing. Graded PSA VG-EX 4 with a certified and graded PSA/DNA Auto 8.
