Description
1958 Topps Roger Maris #47 PSA NM-MT 8. Roger Maris was a back-to-back AL MVP (1960 and '61) while playing right field for the New York Yankees, but he started his Major League career with the Cleveland Indians (1957). A career .260 hitter, he made a name for himself by surpassing Babe Ruth's longstanding single-season record for home runs by clubbing 61 round-trippers in 1961. Offered is Roger's coveted 1958 Topps rookie card. Card #47 from the '58 Topps set shows the upstart slugger gazing off into the distance just prior to the start of his second season with the Tribe.
