    Description

1957 Topps Roy Campanella #210 SGC 96 Mint 9 - Pop Six, None Higher. This poignant card of Roy Campanella would be the final career contemporary card due to his debilitating auto accident he suffered just after the 1957 season. His talents were such that he accomplished enough in his 10 seasons at the majors, not to mention his run in the Negro Leagues, to earn a berth into the illustrious Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Graded SGC 96 Mint 9, here we offer a high-grade example of one of the final cards released while Campy was still in uniform. This is a very attractive copy, one of six at the Mint level with none higher.

1957 Topps Baseball - #1 on the SGC Set Registry!

A historic issue in its status as the first Topps issue to utilize photography, the 1957 set has long been a favorite among collectors with a concentration in the bubble gum era.  Few members of that breed could honestly boast ownership of representations at the elite level that we find in the lots that follow, however.  Collectively these lots generate a Grade Point Average of a staggering 91.3, a score just shy of a NM/MT+ average.  This offering sets itself apart with over 130 cards graded 96 Mint 9, including baseball legends Ted Williams (card #1), Mickey Mantle and Sandy Koufax. Almost fifty from this class of ninety-six hold the ultimate "Pop One of One" status, assigning the winning bidder the ultimate bragging right.
