    Description

1956 Topps Mickey Mantle #135 SGC 96 Mint 9 - None Higher. When one talks about the all-time greats, Mickey Mantle is right on the tip of your tongue. Mickey Mantle played 18 seasons with the New York Yankees; none more memorable, with the possible exception of 1961 and the home run chase with Roger Maris, than his 1956 Triple Crown year. This card depicts "The Mick" with his big Oklahoma smile, almost as if he knew he would win the triple crown that year and be voted the American League MVP. This card was released during that fabled 1956 season and has survived the test of time surprisingly unscathed. Now, more than a half-century later the close to perfect centering, brilliant colors, four sharp corners, precision registration and a clean gray card stock combine to result in a special opportunity to add one of the finest examples of Mick's most popular cards to your collection. Graded SGC 96 Mint 9 and well worth the assessment. This is one of nine examples to grade Mint with none higher!

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
