1956 Topps Jackie Robinson (Gray Back) #30 SGC Mint+ 9.5 - Pop One, None Higher! In 1956, Jackie Robinson was a defending World Champion who was now making his last appearance in a Topps issue. As hard as it must have been to believe at the time, one of the most talented and significant baseball players of all time would hang up his cleats for good following the team's loss to the Yankees in the 1956 World Series.

Graded SGC Mint+ 9.5. Offered is the highest graded example on the SGC census report with the chances of a nicer card being found jammed between "very slim" and "none." Pick your favorite term - Flawless; Pristine; Phenomenal; Incredible; Striking; Perfect. They all apply quite nicely. Just tremendous color and gloss, sharp corners and perfect centering. It is the type of card that makes you believe in time travel.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
