1956 Topps Al Kaline #20 PSA Gem Mint 10 - Pop Two. Ernie Banks is known as "Mr. Cub" to millions of Chicago Cubs fans for his contributions to the organization that made him famous. Detroit has their own favored son in Hall of Fame outfielder Al Kaline who truly earned his "Mr. Tiger" nickname. Kaline debuted at age eighteen midway through the 1953 season and spent twenty-two seasons in a Tigers uniform. He then spent close to thirty years as the team's television color commentator only to take a front office position. As far as Tigers fans are concerned, he is second only to the iconic Ty Cobb in the team's pantheon. Offered is an apparently uncirculated example of his 1956 Topps card #20, this copy is a "White Back" variant. Vibrant colors threaten the supremacy of the just as brilliant white borders and key line. Four high quality corners complete the condition report as one would expect from a stunning PSA Gem MT 10 sixty-year old baseball card. PSA has reviewed over 2,000 examples, both white and gray backs, and this is one of only two that have earned the Gem MT rating from PSA!

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
