1955 Topps Ted Williams #2 PSA Mint 9 - None Higher. Ted Williams two terms of military service meant hundreds of games sacrificed to the protection of our national interests. Even with this burnish to his career numbers he is still placed in the rarest of company. It was widely reported that Williams wasn't pleased when he felt the tap of Uncle Sam's finger upon his shoulder to report to Korea after already having lost three prime years to World War II service. The famously gruff slugger was driven to tears by the adoring send-off he received at Fenway on April 30, 1952. "This is a day I'll remember as long as I live, and I want to thank you fans in particular from the bottom of my heart," he said, breaking tradition to doff his cap.

Graded PSA Mint 9. One of nine graded MINT with none higher! It is not surprising another physically superior example foes not exist. It's hard to believe this card once was wrapped in thin wax and circulated to an baseball and gum loving public totally missing possibly hundreds of opportunities to be shuffled around, dropped and mishandled. The colors and glossy surface offer that "pack fresh" appearance that condition-conscience hobbyists demand. Williams demanded the utmost in excellence from himself when he played the game, this card is for the hobbyist who demands that same level of excellence for their treasured collection.
