One of the top .003% Finest From 9,000+ PSA submissions!

1955 Topps Sandy Koufax Rookie #123 PSA Mint 9. In the entire history of our national pastime, only Warren Spahn retired more batters on strikes with his left arm than did this man, a remarkable statistic when considering the brevity of Koufax' Hall of Fame career. But what his service to Major League Baseball lacked in duration, it more than made up for with achievement. When elbow arthritis drove the Dodgers legend from the sport at the tender age of thirty, he had already earned four World Championship rings, three Cy Young Awards, two World Series MVP Awards and the adoration of millions of baseball fans worldwide who had not been supplied an athletic standard-bearer of such quality. Not since the retirement of Hank Greenberg did the Jewish community have finer inspiration on the baseball field.

Here's where it all began, the most auspicious season in the long-suffering history of the Brooklyn Dodgers, who would provide that Big Apple borough with its sole taste of World Championship champagne the year this trading card rolled off the presses. Sixty-five years later, the Bums are long gone but this cardboard commemorative hasn't aged a day, preserved in virtually pristine condition. Color registration and centering are first-rate, and the surfaces lack any hint of gum or wax staining. Graded PSA Mint 9. There exists just three superior examples as noted in the PSA population. Like the southpaw ace it celebrates, this card is just about as good as it gets.
