    Description

1955 Topps Sandy Koufax #123 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. The mighty Brooklyn Dodgers were unknowingly getting ready to finally claim a long-awaited World Championship in 1955. A new member of the '55 team was a youthful but deceptively innocent-looking flame-thrower named Sandy Koufax. That first year offered a glimpse of hope that he would be ready to join such heroes as Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider, Roy Campanella and Gil Hodges, and the team's fortunes would change forever. So, too, did the collecting hobby, as the debut-year collectible of Koufax has never relinquished its status as one of the most visually captivating gum cards ever made. Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8, one of twenty-three at this grade level with fifteen higher from a sampling of over 830 submissions. At the NM/MT level, quality is expected. Extremely bright and glossy with four sharp corners and deep, rich colors. This card exceeds expectations.
