    Only one superior!

1955 Topps Harmon Killebrew Rookie #124 PSA Mint 9. His "Killer" moniker was inspired by his surname and validated by his thunderous home run clouts, but the Hall of Famer's gentle nature supplied the term with a hint of irony. A consummate sportsman on the field remembered for complimenting umpires even when they ruled against him, Killebrew converted to Mormonism during his career, abstaining from alcohol and tobacco. When asked about his hobbies in a sportswriter's interview, Killebrew simply replied, "Just washing dishes, I guess."

But if Killer's hobbies were less than pulse-pounding, those collectors competing for this elite representation of his essential rookie card should enjoy a heated battle on Platinum Night. Like the Clemente and Koufax that make the 1955 Topps set a particularly important rookie class, this Killebrew has been setting new pricing superlatives with every subsequent auction as more and more investors attempt to saddle the charging bull market. Just a single Gem Mint 10 specimen exists, so this is almost certainly as good as it will ever get.
