    Description

1954 Topps Hank Aaron #128 SGC EX 5. It's certainly one of the hobby's most important post-war cards, a status it will retain even though Aaron's remarkable 755 career home run total was finally surpassed. Though Aaron's own assumption of the home run crown came more than a quarter century after Jackie Robinson broke the color line, Hammerin' Hank was forced to endure everything from racist taunts to death threats as he reeled in the Babe. This gorgeous slab of cardboard finds the young former Negro Leaguer at the start of that long march toward immortality, hatched from wax at a time when the Major Leagues were still settling in to integration. Graded SGC EX 5. Very strong example with fantastic eye appeal.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
