1954 Topps Hank Aaron #128 PSA NM-MT 8. Presented is the rookie card of Henry Aaron, a player considered by many as baseball's true all-time home run leader because he hit his round-trippers before the "Steroid Era." Hall of Famer Aaron was not a particularly large man, listed perhaps as a generous 6'0" and was very thin when he began his minor league career. So, from where did he get his power? Aaron himself has said he thinks it's because of strong wrists developed from years of batting cross-handed. When he played for the Negro American League Indianapolis Clowns, he batted cross-handed, a habit he started as a youth. When he began playing in the then Boston Braves farm system, the Braves' instructors helped him change to a more conventional grip, and his power started to surge. Aaron was an outstanding standing overall player who was a 3-time NL MVP, and a 21-time All-Star. He became baseball's all-time homer king on April 8, 1974 when he hit Al Downing's pitch over the left-center field fence in Atlanta. Aaron played 23 MLB seasons - 21 with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves and a final two with the Milwaukee Brewers. He's was a NL MVP, a 2-time batting champ, on the '57 Milwaukee Braves World Series winners, and led the NL in homers 4-times.

The 1954 Topps issue was only 250 cards because Topps and Bowman were still in a card war, and each had signed many players to exclusive contracts. Topps spared no expense in the war, and for the first time Topps issued cards with two front images: a large colorized portrait and a small B&W action shot. Graded PSA NM-MT 8.
