    Description

1954 Topps Al Kaline #201 PSA NM-MT 8. Ty Cobb will hold the "Mr. Tiger" nickname for many fans in the team's pantheon. In 1953 Al Kaline debuted at age eighteen making just thirty appearances that year. 1954 marked the All-Star slugger's official rookie campaign, an auspicious start for which he claimed the bronze medal in American League Rookie of the Year balloting. He would wear a Tiger jersey for the next twenty-two seasons, close to thirty as the team's television color commentator, and a front office position. If anyone deserves the "Mr. Tiger" nickname it is Hall of Fame outfielder Al Kaline. Offered is one of the finer examples of the rookie card of Detroit's native son. Remarkably clean, four high quality corners and a fresh, minimally handled surface all describe this presentation. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. A befitting announcement of Kaline's arrival to the baseball card collecting world.
