    Description

1954 Topps Al Kaline #201 PSA Mint 9 - Only One Higher. Ernie Banks is known as "Mr. Cub" to millions of Chicago Cubs fans for his contributions to the organization that made him famous. Detroit has their own favored son in Hall of Fame outfielder Al Kaline who truly earned his "Mr. Tiger" nickname. Kaline debuted at age eighteen midway through the 1953 season and spent twenty-two seasons in a Tigers uniform. He then spent close to thirty years as the team's television color commentator only to take a front office position. As far as Tigers fans are concerned, he is second only to the iconic Ty Cobb in the team's pantheon. Offered is an apparently uncirculated example of his 1954 Topps rookie card #201.

Graded PSA Mint 9. PSA has reviewed over 3,000 examples, and this is one of twenty that have earned the Mint rating from PSA with only one rated higher! Vibrant colors threaten the supremacy of the frosty white borders. Four high quality corners complete the condition report as one would expect from an unquestionable Mint condition card. Kaline is one of the premier rookie appearances of the 1950's. This is a condition scarcity of a premier class rookie card debut.
