    Description

1954 Topps Al Kaline #201 PSA Mint 9 - Only One Higher. Ernie Banks is known as "Mr. Cub" to millions of Chicago Cubs fans for his contributions to the organization that made him famous. Detroit has their own favored son in Hall of Fame outfielder Al Kaline who truly earned his "Mr. Tiger" nickname. Kaline debuted at age eighteen midway through the 1953 season and spent twenty-two seasons in a Tigers uniform. He then spent close to thirty years as the team's television color commentator only to take a front office position. As far as Tigers fans are concerned, he is second only to the iconic Ty Cobb in the team's pantheon.

Offered is an apparently uncirculated example of his 1954 Topps rookie card #201. Graded PSA Mint 9. PSA has reviewed almost 3,000 examples. Just over one-half of a percent represents the Mint or Gem MT grade levels. Vibrant colors reign supreme surrounded by a brilliant white border. Four high quality corners complete the condition report as one would expect no less from a high quality entry. Kaline is one of the premier rookie debuts of the 1950's. This is a condition rarity that represents just the second time Heritage has been able to offer a Mint example to our bidders.
