    Description

1953 Topps Harvey Haddix #273 PSA NM-MT 8 - Only Three Higher. "Harvey Haddix" is the answer to a great baseball trivia question that is hardly trivial. The question is "Who is the only baseball pitcher to pitch 9 perfect innings but still lose? On May 26, 1959 Haddix had a perfect game not only after nine innings but for 12 innings! The 13th inning was chaos. There was a fielding error, a bunt, a home run by Hank Aaron that turned into a double when another runner (Adcock) passed him on the base paths ultimately resulting in a 1-0 loss for Haddix/Pirates. Offered is his rookie card from the 1953 Topps series when he went 20-9 on a 3.06 ERA. Graded PSA NM-MT 8.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
