    Description

1952 Topps Mickey Mantle #311 SGC 40 VG 3. For many, this card opened the door to hobby enlightenment. For most outside the hobby, this card represents the hobby. It is the single most desirable card of the post-war era. While it is the tremendous historical relevance of the Mick that drives its value. Offered is a solid example, graded SGC 40 VG 3. His portrait is mildly affected by a lone speck of surface loss and connected scratch. A surface impression in the shape of an arrow pointing down is present but exceptionally hard to see, this anomaly is above the "MA" in MANTLE." The central portrait is nicely centered. There is some totally acceptable corner wear normally associated with a card graded higher, there is a slight bend in the lower right corner. Gloss and colors are very pleasing. This is a very nice card for the grade as it is truly a card that has no major faults.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
