1952 Topps Larry Doby #243 SGC 96 MINT 9. Pop 3, None Higher! Larry Doby is largely overlooked by history in the race to break the color barrier. Doby was the first African-American to play in the American League that historical summer of '47. From the landmark 1952 Topps baseball set, card #243 features HoF outfielder Larry Doby with the Cleveland Indians. This is an amazing example with rich colors, clean surfaces, and corners all as nice as one will find in a 58 year old card. Just an outstanding card worthy of being the highest graded example in an SGC holder, which tends to be the more conservative service. Graded SGC 96 Mint 9!
