    Description

1952 Topps Frank Campos (Black Star) #307 PSA VG+ 3.5. The standard is that a gold star represents excellence. With this undeniable rarity a black star is the symbol that takes the average to something extraordinary. Frank Campos made his debut in 1946 after playing ball in Portsmouth and Havana, Cuba. Although his playing career wasn't notable, but his contribution to the hobby is pure "star" status. A typical 1952 Topps card in every aspect except for one. The Campos "Black Star" variation shows on red star and one black star overprinting the star just to the right of "TOPPS BASEBALL" along the bottom of the reverse. Kudos to the pressman who caught the minor production glitch. Graded PSA VG+ 3.5.
