Description

1952 Topps Eddie Mathews Rookie #407 PSA VG-EX 4. Eddie Mathews was known for hitting home runs. During the course of his 17 years in the major leagues, he belted 512 round-trippers and drove in 1,453 runs. Offered is his 1952 Topps rookie card. Card #407 from the historic '52 Topps set shows an up-close photo of a very youthful-looking Mathews. During his first season, when he played for the Boston Braves prior to their move to Milwaukee, the 20-year-old slugger hit 25 home runs, 23 doubles and drove in 58 runs. This example of Mathews' rookie is bursting with color, but suffers from centering and surface wear problems. Despite that, it's still a very sought-after rookie. Graded PSA VG-EX 4.
