Description
1951 Bowman Willie Mays Rookie #305 SGC Authentic. Truly enjoying his time playing baseball, Willie Mays was often referred to as the "Say Hey Kid." Affable as well as fearless, he was gifted in all aspects of baseball. He was speedy on the basepaths (339 steals), powerful at the plate (660 HR) and terrific patrolling center field (12 Gold Gloves). The awards he earned are many: 24 All-Star selections, two NL MVPs (1954 and '65), one NL batting title ('54), and one World Series ring (also in '54). He was rightfully elected to Cooperstown as a first-ballot inductee in 1979. Presented is Willie's coveted 1951 Bowman rookie card, which shows the master batsman in (what's else?) a batting stance. This example of the horizontally designed card #305 from the '51 Bowman set would no doubt make a nice addition to any baseball fan's personal collection.
