Description
1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253 PSA EX+ 5.5. When Mantle posed for the photo that would be used for his baseball card debut one can only wonder if he even dreamed it would become an iconic portrait marveled at by generations of fans. Though his early struggles almost convinced Mickey to hang up his bat at age twenty, his perseverance led to Hall of Fame status and immortality which turned this card from a mere "common" into one of the most valuable cards in the modern era.Graded PSA EX+ 5.5. Only modest corner wear exists and surfaces are free of blemish and scarring from those printer press rollers that seems to have enjoyed scratching this card. The ink quality has remained high and reverse ink stains that seem to be so common with this issue are not present.
