    Description

Vintage Cincinnati/Indianapolis Clowns Real Photo Postcard. Offered is a vintage real photo postcard of the Negro League franchise, the Indianapolis Clowns. The team debuted in 1943 and were based out of Cincinnati and Indianapolis before settling in Indianapolis in 1946. In 1950 the team was league champions. In addition to a serious team the club also fielded a team of comedic performers that entertained crowds into the 1960's. The 1952 team included a young man named Hank Aaron who was sold to the Boston Braves organization and the rest as they say is history. The offered unused postcard depicts (to the best of our research) the 1944 Indianapolis-Cincinnati Clowns team that included Armando Vasquez in his rookie season. The card is in excellent condition.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
