Description

1949 Bowman Duke Snider #226 SGC 88 NM/MT 8. Duke Snider was not just a star outfielder for the Brooklyn Dodgers teams of the 1950's. He was one of the franchise's most beloved figures, a treasured member of the famed "Boys of Summer," and instrumental in the 1955 club's long-awaited World Series victory. His first card appearances is this card, #226 from the Bowman baseball edition from 1949. To the chagrin of hobbyists who concentrate on "Brooklyn Bums" players in their collections, Snider's debut piece emerged among the issue's scarcer series of "High Numbers." This spectacular example displays close to perfectly calibrated centering as just one highlight, the card also features apparently never-touched and factory-fresh "rough cuts" at the sides, spot-on print resolution, and a generally fault-free visual appeal. Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8. One of fifteen graded NM/MT with five rated higher.
