Description

1949 Bowman Bob Feller #27 SGC 60 EX 5. Robert William Andrew Feller came off the farm in Iowa and pitched for the Cleveland Indians at the tender age of 17 in 1936. Amazingly, in August of that first season, Feller, facing the St. Louis Browns, struck out fifteen batters. He pitched 18 seasons for the Tribe, despite missing nearly four years to military service. After the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Bob Feller was the first major leaguer to enlist. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1962. This post-war gum card is off center but has retained strong ink quality. Graded SGC 60 EX 5.
