    Description

1949-50 Toleteros Leon Day SGC 20 Fair 1.5. Though Jackie Robinson launched the first volley in the war for racial equality in the Major Leagues earlier in 1947, the Negro Leagues were still very much alive with some of the greatest stars in baseball history. A stand out with the Santurce club of the Puerto Rican League was baseball HoFer Leon Day. A versatile talent, Day played every position and excelled as both pitching and batting and today is still Negro and Puerto Rican league record holder. Offered is a rare Toleteros card featuring Day from their 1949-50 series. One of very few cards from his playing days on which he is featured. Graded SGC 20 Fair 1.5.
