Description

1948 Leaf Ted Williams #76 PSA NM-MT 8. Ted Williams was a prolific hitter who always seemed to get around on fastballs no matter how fast they came. He had such incredible hand-eye coordination that he rarely struck out. In fact, in 9,792 plate appearances, Williams struck out 1,948 times, which equates to just once in every five at-bats. "Teddy Ballgame" knew how to make contact. In his 19 seasons with the Boston Red Sox, the first-ballot Hall of Famer collected 2,654 hits (including 521 home runs) and drove in 1,839 runs.

The offered 1948 Leaf card shows the career .344 hitter watching the flight of his batted ball. The presented example of card #76 from the well-received '48 Leaf set is found in outstanding condition with good color, superb centering, four sharp corners and a squeaky clean reverse. For any serious Ted Williams or Boston Red Sox collector, acquiring this card would no doubt be a crowning achievement. Graded PSA NM-MT 8.
