Description

1948 Leaf Joe DiMaggio #1 PSA EX 5. He was called both the "Yankee Clipper" and "Joltin' Joe." His name was Joe DiMaggio and he helped lead the Bronx Bombers to nine World Series championships in his 13 seasons in pinstripes. A three-time AL MVP (1939, '41 and '47), Joe D. is probably best remembered as the player who produced the longest consecutive-games-hitting streak in Major League Baseball history. In 1941, DiMaggio hit safely in 56 straight games, which remains the MLB record to this day (83 years later). Offered is DiMaggio's coveted 1948 Leaf card. This example of Card #1 from the '48 Leaf series shows a colorized image of Joltin' Joe swinging through. Exhibiting some surface wear, a brown mark on the top border and centering that falls too far to the right, this mid-grade specimen is graded PSA EX 5.
