1948 Leaf Bob Feller #93 PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop Six, None Higher. The 1948-49 Leaf series help usher in a new era in baseball cards with a few tricks of the past. To entice sales, cards were skip-numbered and many cards were simply not sold in the same numbers as others making complete sets nothing short of an expensive and arduous task. A read of the list of names of the short prints one find a number of desirable rookies and established stars. Two names immediately grab your attention. Both are pitchers of the finest caliber. One is Negro/Major League legend Satchell Paige. An elder statesman in the clubhouse but a rookie as swell. The other is Hall of Famer Bob Feller. At the time, Feller was a 12-year baseball veteran and ex-military veteran with over 175 victories to his name. For those hearty souls wishing to finish the journey of completing this benchmark series, Feller ranks high among the subjects that are the last acquired. But, what a satisfying way to end what is a long collecting journey.Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of six in NM-MT with none rated higher. While his total pop number is higher than others, his popularity far exceeds most accounting for the lack of availability. Once this card find a home, it will stay there for some time. The offered card is about a solid copy as you can find. The portrait of a smiling Feller rests to the right of center, mildly affected by sheet transfer. Surfaces are free of any dings, bumps, non-factory mishaps, etc. His portrait is the real bonus as print registration with this series can be comical at times or crisp and precise as we see here. An unquestionably scarce card where the supply will never satisfy the always in-demand collectible.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.View More Testimonials
