1948 Bowman Yogi Berra #6 PSA Mint 9 - Only One Higher. Yogi Berra once quipped, "How can you think and hit at the same time?" Well, he must have figured it out. When one mentions the 1950's New York Yankees, Mantle is immediately thought of as the brightest star but his was by far not the only talent on a team that experienced six World Championships and eight pennant titles from 1950-1959. The Yankees also won it all in 1949 thanks in large part to this their squat little backstop who served as the sun in a galaxy of newly forming talents and egos. No Bronx Bomber in history is more decorated than the beloved Berra, earning two full fists of World Championship jewelry, fifteen All-Star Game appearances and three MVP awards during his eighteen seasons as a player. Every accounting of the team's all-time greats finds Berra installed prominently within the top ten, with some placing him alongside Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio and Mantle in the upper half of that ranking.

World War II broke the annual association between baseball trading cards and gum. In 1948 the Bowman Gum Company brought it back establishing a tradition that lasted over half of a century. Their 1948 baseball effort was a breakthrough with multiple rookie card debuts of future HoF players. One of the most important is card #6 featuring Yogi Berra.

Graded PSA Mint 9. One of ten in Mint with only one rated higher. This card is nothing short of being a crisp and extremely fresh example with a bright and vivid border that surrounds a sharp and crisp, precisely centered batting portrait. It's easy to hype a card by saying, "They don't come much better than this" but in this case, it is 99.994% percent true.
