1941 Play Ball Frank Hayes #41 PSA NM-MT+ 8.5 - Only Two Higher! Frank Hayes was a well-traveled catcher who played for five different teams during his 14-year career in the Major Leagues. His longest tenure was with the Philadelphia Athletics where he batted .270 and belted 101 home runs over 11 seasons. Presented is a 1941 Play Ball card that shows Hayes, who was nicknamed "Blimp," staring right back at the photographer. This example of card #41 from the '41 Play Ball set is found exhibiting beautiful color, great centering, good registration, bright white borders, four strong corners and a squeaky clean reverse. Graded PSA NM-MT+ 8.5. Of the more than 225 examples found in the PSA Pop Report, this is one of only five cards graded NEAR MINT-MINT+ with just two rated higher.
