Coming off a trip to the 1940 World Series where the Tigers came up one run short in losing to the Cincinnati Reds 2-1 in game 7, Gehringer continued to prove he was worthy of All-Star status. In his 17th year with Detroit, Gehringer hit .313 and scored 108 runs. A lifetime .320 hitter, Gehringer is considered to be one of the best second basemen of all time. Offered is his 1941 Play Ball card. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Vivid color and crystal clear registration highlight the Hall of Fame example.
