1940 Playball Mel Ott #88 SGC EX-NM 6. Hall of Famer Mel Ott was both a right fielder and third baseman during the course of his 22-year MLB career with the New York Giants. A steady hitter with a lifetime batting average of .304, he could also hit for power as was demonstrated by his 511 round-trippers. Offered is a 1940 Play Ball card that shows the prolific batsman following through with a swing during pregame activities.
