1939 R303-A Goudey Premiums Ted Williams SGC 84 NM 7 - Highest SGC Known! Graded SGC 84 NM 7, by far the finest example graded by SGC to date! The classic batting portrait of the immensely talented youngster foretells the serious nature of the man who became a baseball icon. At an impressive 4" x 6-3/16" these all too fragile thin card stock premiums begin to show their age even with the slightest amount of handling. Creases and dimples are almost a forgone conclusion. The condition of this beautiful premium of the legendary Ted Williams seems to defy conventional wisdom. With four sharp corners and problem free surfaces, one can only speculate the technical assessment had the central image rested a little higher. A terrific and scarce addition to any "Splendid Splinter" collection.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
