    1939-1946 Salutation Exhibits Bill Dickey (Name on Left) SGC 86 NM+ 7.5 - The Highest SGC Example. Bill Dickey played for the New York Yankees for 17 seasons from 1928 to 1943, served in the United States Navy during World War II and came back as player/manager in 1946. A second return to the Bronx Bombers came in 1949 where as a coach he taught a youngster named "Berra" how to be a catcher. His career is highlighted by nine World Series appearances - winning eight. Eleven All-Star Games and six more world series titles when he was either manager or coach. Offered is a the finest example of his "Name of Left" variant from the 1939-46 Salutation Exhibits series. Graded SGC 86 NM+ 7.5.
