1938 Goudey Heads Up Charlie Gehringer #265 SGC Mint 9 - Pop One, None Higher! Charlie Gehringer was the longtime second baseman for the Detroit Tigers (1926 to 1941) who compiled a .320 lifetime batting average and was named to six AL All-Star teams. He was also the AL MVP in 1937 after batting a league-leading .371 with 40 doubles and 96 runs batted in. Offered is a 1938 Goudey Heads Up card that places Gehringer's head atop a cartoon-like body with stats and bio info floating around the image. This example of card #265 is found in Mint condition with good color, perfect centering, four strong corners and a clean reverse. Only some slight discoloration to the edges keeps this from being a Gem Mint specimen. Graded SGC Mint 9. According to the SGC Pop Report, this is the only example graded MINT with none rated higher.
