Description
1936 Wheaties-Series 4 Lou Gehrig - Full Size Panel. When issued in 1936, this scarce collectible was the back panel of a box of Wheaties cereal. The panel features Yankees legend Lou Gehrig in a classic batting portrait extolling the value of eating the "Breakfast of Champions." Technically "Fair" due to a pair of pin holes (one quite obvious), a small surface scuff mark visible in Gehrig's bat and the loss of the upper, left corner tip. Those do little to detract from the strong overall eye appeal. It is also quite scarce to find this series as a full 6" X 8-1/2" panel intact as youngsters rarely "cut along the dotted line" as they say.
