    Description

1936 R311 Leather Finish Connie Mack SGC Authentic. The next step up from the Goudey and National Chicle Premiums of the same era are the R311 "Leather Finish" premiums which measure an impressive 6" x 8". The small in subject matter series gets its name not because they are made of leather but simply because the thin paper stock has been embossed to simulate a leather appearance. The offered example of the grand old man of the game, Connie Mack has been graded SGC Authentic due to the upper right corner where someone had removed a piece of tape and then "filled out" the corner of the black background with a black marker. Not a piece you'll find on a regular basis.
