    Description

1935 UM7 Rice-Stix Dizzy Dean SGC 45 VG+ 3.5. With the name "Rice-Stix" one would assume a cereal or a snack was involved. Rice-Stix was a St. Louis based clothing manufacturer. In 1935 they produced a set, or should we say a pair, of very nicely made promo cards honoring the brothers Dean. 1934 was a good year for the Dean brothers, rookie Paul Dean went 19-11 while his brother had a career year going 30-7 and would earn NL MVP honors. The Dean brothers accounted for over 50% of the teams victories taking the Cardinals to the October classic - which they won - the brothers Dean equally accounting for all four wins! Offered is HoFer Dizzy Dean. Graded SGC 45 VG+ 3.5 for some reverse wrinkling. The cards display very colorful, finely detailed portraits on a textured paper stock. One can only guess how many of these were circulated as Rice-Stix was not a retailer and how even fewer would have made it outside of St. Louis area.
