    Description

1934 Goudey Mickey Cochrane #2 PSA Mint 9 - None Higher. Mickey Cochrane was much more than just one of the best back-stops in baseball history. His skills as a manager elevated his Detroit Tigers to World Champion status in 1935. As a player and manager with both the Tigers and Phil. Athletics, he was part of five pennant winning teams, three World Series championships and two American League MVP awards (1928 and 1934). Offered is a stunning fresh-from-the-pack example of Cochrane's condition sensitive card #2 from the 1934 Goudey series. Finding a '34 Goudey in Mint condition is no easy feat as less than one percent of the over 23,000 PSA submissions has resulted in this revered grade (or higher). Once cards like this are acquired it is unlikely they become available in the foreseeable future.

Graded PSA Mint 9. One of seven examples at this level with none graded higher. That pop statement is the same as it was when Heritage sold this same card in 2013. This card boasts every characteristic one looks for in a mint card - bright-white borders, razor-sharp corner tips, rich hues and problem-free surfaces. His beaming portrait is precisely registered, the reverse compliments the front as the traditional ghosting so commonly found with this series is absent leaving a glowing bright backdrop against the bold green advertising and biography. A fantastic addition to any '34 Goudey collection and what a great type-card!
