Description

1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig #61 SGC 88 NM/MT 8 - Pop Four, None Higher! When it comes to Goudey's celebrated sophomore issue, it just doesn't get much better than this. Not only is this number 61 card, dedicated to the set's Hall of Fame spokesman, the most valuable in the ninety-six card set, but this specific example provides such stunning aesthetics and lack of wear that not a single example weighs heavier on the SGC population report. Colors are brilliant, surfaces are beyond clean and then there are the four wonderfully high quality corner tips. Such an impressive representation of the Iron Horse suggests the impossible - could this be a new hatchling from a 1934 wax pack. One must assume it is only the slight inconsistency in border width that restrains the card from climbing even higher. Graded SGC 88 NM/MT 8, one of four at the NM/MT level with none grading higher. This card is a must have for Gehrig enthusiasts!
