1933 Sport Kings Red Grange #4 PSA Mint 9 - Pop Four, None Higher. American Football in 1933 was hardly the billion-dollar titan it is today. Born in 1920, the sports grew and changed with each passing year. It was the first year the sport had ten teams and two divisions and an official championship game pitted the two first place teams against each other. In 1925 a young halfback from the University of Illinois named Harold "Red" Grange was signed by the Chicago Bears. His skills and style of play would quickly turn professional football from "side show" to the "center stage" that would one day have a billion people watching a single-game literally around the world.

The "Galloping Ghost" as would become known as was an All-American for the 1923, 1924 and 1925 seasons. He became legend in 1924 when against a favored Michigan squad, Grange scored four touchdowns on runs of 95, 67, 56 and 44 yards and all of this before half-time. Before the game ended Grange scored another TD plus for good measure threw a pass for another touchdown as part of a 39-14 victory. When his playing days were over, Grange was a pioneer of sorts becoming one of the first players to succeed as a radio and television broadcaster, a career he enjoyed for 25 years.
