    Description

1933 Goudey Rogers Hornsby #119 PSA NM-MT 8. Based on his career stats, you would think Rogers Hornsby was born with a bat in his hand. While baseball history marvels at the hitting exploits of Ty Cobb, Ted Williams and the myth that is Joe Jackson it is Hornsby who seems to be overlooked. Maybe his numbers are too good to be true. He was an astute hitter, who racked up seven batting titles and a .358 lifetime average, finished just seventy hits shy of the magical 3,000 mark. He owned the 1920's. From 1920 through 1929 "raja" batted .382 on almost 2,100 hits or an average of 209 hits every year for an entire decade. Did Hornsby bat over .400? Try three times in 1922 (.401), 1924 (.424) and 1925 (.403).

Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of eighteen graded NM-MT with a trio rated higher. Offered is one of his many card collectibles, this one is one of his two appearances from the landmark 1933 Goudey series. This example shows a colorful fielding pose which is close to being centered perfectly with clean surfaces and just touches of corner wear.
