    Description

1933 Goudey Red Faber #79 PSA NM-MT 8 - Two Higher. Red Faber was victimized by the Spanish Flu pandemic that took the lives of an estimated five percent of the global population in the months surrounding the close of the First World War. This kept him out of the 1919 World Series, which gave eight of his teammates the chance to fix the series, which led to their ultimate banishment from organized ball. Years later, catcher Ray Schalk would theorize that the fix might never have happened had Faber not been incapacitated as he would have been on the mound instead of a crooked Eddie Cicotte or Lefty Williams. Graded PSA NM-MT 8 with only two higher.
